It is with great pleasure that we bring you the first release at Serein, by Canadian artist Muhr. Five tracks in all comprising sampled instrumentation, field recordings and carefully layered sound synthesis. A conceptual follow up to his release at Miasmah, Muhr has once again managed to deliver a beautifully sparse and organic sound that is becoming very much his own. We look forward to hearing more from him in the near future! ( 1 reviews ) Topic: electronica

kaneel - la pink note your daily dose of bluespoptronica! F i n a l l y, after nearly two months of silence, we are back with a new release and as usual, it's with a certain excitement. Not only because it's been said months ago kaneel would come up with a release for petite&jolie, nor because this release is mixing two years old tracks from his grenier with fresh new materials but for the reason an album of kaneel has been released by Apegenine Recordings and at petite&jolie, we love... Following the release of the first "Aze" album from Dutch artist Izmar, earlier this year, we carefully guarded the follow-up, containing more excellent chilled instrumental tracks recorded around the same time, which all ready to go. So, go now it does, and for fans of Fila Brazillia, Max Brennan, or any other deliciously funky chill hybrid shenanigans, you may, indeed, have a second treat in store. It's difficult to pick out specific standouts in this uniformly lush album, but... After more than 2 years of inactivity, Ronin Collective is back, and we wanted to do a special release for our return. Gama, a 24 track, 2hour compilation featuring Ronin members, guests and friends perfectly defining the eclecticism behind the Ronin style. You'll find everything ronin has been and more; returning members deliver yet again with a periphery of tones and styles from Blisaed's guitar-hop, to Wiseman's folk-psychadelia, to Benefit of the Boomerang's flaming jungle and V0idnull's... Although sometimes overlooked, due to their release on Monotonik's lesser-known sublabel Mono211, the two albums we've put out so far by Dutch ex-techno producer Izmar are, everyone seems to agree, pretty damn special, twinning Fila Brazillia style grooves with gorgeous melodies. So, when we got a whole extra CD of material from him (to be dealt with soon!), plus a follow-up of this lovely four-track EP, we grinned happily and got on with the harrowing job of actually releasing it, starting... As said on the website, it's been a moment we were thinking about it. The definition of petite&jolie is clearly in the title, we want to set a cosy place for cute music. So here we are with our first release named "Pantoufle Tagada", a nice launching compilation for the sake of cuteness The cuteness will transport you on...
